About
Welcome to my latest discovery in the vibrant world of Los Angeles café culture: Community Goods. Nestled on N Edinburgh Avenue, this charming spot has quickly become a local favorite, drawing in matcha aficionados and coffee lovers alike with its enticing offerings. As I approach the storefront, the ambiance buzzes with energy, a testament to its popularity and, dare I say, an aura of community.
Location: 710 N Edinburgh Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90046.
The highlight here? The matcha einspanner, an artful creation that has garnered rave reviews from customers. One satisfied patron, Eric C., expressed his delight in the “perfect ratio of milk, matcha, and cream.” Such praise speaks volumes, especially in a city where matcha is revered, and competition is steep. For those drawn to the extraordinary, the einspanner is a must-try, offering a balance of flavors that leave you yearning for just one more sip.
But Community Goods isn’t just about matcha; it boasts a menu rich in options. Freshly prepared breakfast sliders complemented by an array of unique sauces like the Basil Aioli and CG Hot Sauce promise to elevate your brunch experience. Imagine sinking your teeth into a slider that expertly weaves sweet and savory, all while drenching it in that delightful aioli. It’s comfort food done right!
As I lingered at Community Goods, I couldn't help but admire the diverse range of products available beyond their food. From stunning coffee table books like TYPE 7 VOLUME 3 LART DE LAUTOMOBILE EDITION to uniquely designed coloring books, the creative spirit of the brand shines through.
The café’s warm, inviting aesthetic complements the quality of their offerings, though it’s not without its challenges. The line can stretch out the door, especially on weekends, as many try to secure a taste of their delicious beverages and bites. However, as noted by Lynn W., the wait can be part of the charm—entertaining yourself with the eclectic goods on display while you anticipate your order can be part of the overall experience.
In summary, Community Goods is more than just a café; it's a gathering place for those who appreciate good food, thoughtful products, and an inviting atmosphere. Whether you're a matcha enthusiast or simply in search of a cozy spot to enjoy quality eats, I highly recommend stopping by—but perhaps during a weekday to sidestep those notorious lines!

“ I feel like Community Goods makes the best matcha einspanner in LA. It has the perfect ratio of milk, matcha, and cream. Though a little more matcha couldn't hurt! Rocky's matcha is just amazing and all ingredients tastes... natural. I've had Stagger's double matcha and while it was good, the sugar definitely carried it and the sweetener tasted artificial. Weekday tip: go then to wait less than 20 minutes instead of dealing with weekend crowds. ”
“ It was my first time here today and I absolutely loved it. I ordered a matcha einspanner with oat milk, which I didn't see on the menu but saw online that they had available. I think the matcha doesn't come sweetened but the cream did so my drink was slightly sweet and tasted perfect. The drink came out to be $7.50, which isn't too bad considering they don't charge extra for alternative milk options. The place itself is really cool, the store is small with a line going out the door. I waited about 30 minutes to order, but then the drink came out pretty fast. They have a bit of seating in the back but it was mostly full. They also sell an assortment of other things like bottled juices, cards, candles, and other small little things. Looking through them kept me pretty entertained while waiting for my drink. Unfortunately you do have to find street parking nearby, which can be hard to do given how the store is just off Melrose. Also the line was quite long for me, but perhaps it would've been shorter had I went a different time. But overall I think it was worth it! ”
“ I ordered the einspanner latte. It was delicious! It is very similar to Yeem's coffee-- super smooth & perfectly sweetened. We waited about 45 min on a Saturday afternoon so it can get pretty crowded. There is no shade while waiting in line either. Overall, this was good but I would wait 15 minutes max! ”
“ My friend and I had heard so much about Community Goods' matcha, so we had to see what the hype was about. This location is a small stand outside a building with only outdoor seating. We visited on a Wednesday around 10:30 AM, and luckily, the line wasn't too bad. We both ordered the Matcha Latte with the Cream Top, and despite the line, our drinks came out pretty fast. We have to say--the matcha is really good! It has a strong, authentic matcha flavor and is super creamy. The cream top is a must, adding extra richness to the drink. Our only complaint is that we wish the cups were bigger for the price. However, we'd recommend coming to this location over the other one on N Edinburgh Ave since it's less crowded. Just keep in mind that this spot doesn't offer their full menu, like the breakfast sliders. That said, if you're here for the matcha latte, you won't be disappointed! Parking was also easy, with a $5 public lot nearby. We'll definitely be back! ”
“ I wanted to not like Community Goods because the wait is just atrocious but damn...the einspanner latte was freaking amazing! They open at 8am...we showed up at 8:09am Saturday and we still had to wait about an hour just to get to the cash register to place our orders!!!!! Not sure why it takes so long. Maybe they only have one person at the register and a few baristas? But fu*****....the wait is the only reason why I won't be returning despite how perfect the einspanner latte & their breakfast sliders are. Showing up NINE MINUTES after opening and I still had to wait an hour?! Make it make sense. Still...I will never forget my first sip of my drink and that first bite into those breakfast sliders. The aïoli and sweet & sour sauce completely takes these basic sliders into a whole new level. Definitely elevates the flavoring! The einspanner latte was creamy yet light...not too sweet and you can still taste and feel the caffeine. Heavenly and orgasmic. Unfortunately, outdoor seating is slim to none. There were only three squared tables against the wall and two long benches with lower table towards the back. Of course they're all occupied and people weren't even actively drinking or eating! They're just sitting there chatting away and their beverages were empty. Ughhhh come on LA people...be considerate. I am happy I finally got the chance to come to Community Goods. I understand the hype, I really do. (Now if only they can do something about the hour long wait). ”
“ Bestie and I each got a matcha einspanner with oat milk and I got a Hojicha iced latte w oat milk as well The matcha einspanner was soooo delicious.. the matcha flavor is seriously perfect! Not too mild or too bitter or strong & I legit finished my drink within like 5 mins of getting it The Hojicha latte was incredible as well. It was so yummy, I love Hojicha bc it has that warm roasted flavor and it was gorgeous We went right before they closed around 3:45pm and there was still quite a lot of ppl waiting in line but it was well worth standing in the rain for The baristas were super nice & answered all of our annoying questions hehe ”
